The Two Joes

So last night the two Joes were in.

Here is the conversation:

THE OTHER JOE: "I like when you do the conversational blogs."

ME: "Are you making fun of me?"

JOE: "No...those are the best blogs."

ME: "You guys are making fun of me, aintcha?"

THE OTHER JOE: "Making fun of you would be if I said with a serious face that I like when you post youtube videos instead of a real post."

ME: "I do those when I'm busy and have nothing to say."

THE OTHER JOE: "The ones with you talking with Wifey are the best."

JOE: "Yeah."

ME: "Those are real conversations...she's quite dry."

BOTH JOES: "Very dry."

ME: "I don't mean she's dry...."

  2. Just to let you all know, this is exactly the way the conversation went.

No need to ever question Steve's scary ability to recall a conversation.

I noticed you left out the "Astroglide" comment...

    KIDDING, Wifey, just kidding.

    Or someone.

  3. 1) Dang! I was kinda hoping the cake would find a way to post her traditional first response via cell phone. "Are you ready, Ms. Cake?" "Just a second! Here. Type in 'Neener' for me." "???" "DO IT or we're not gonna dance today, doc." She's got the moxie to pull that off!
    2) Kathy's purple picture rocks.
    3) The conversations with wifey are pretty magnificent.
    4) Excellent photo essay below.

  4. I just like when someone actually puts up a blog conversation, youtube or whatnot. Speaking of which I finally did!

  5. If Wifey reads your blog -- although somehow I don't think she does -- you're sleeping on the couch tonight... or in the front yard.

And YouTube videos which help to illustrate the point or subject of a blog (anyone's blog, not just yours) are cool. YouTube videos instead of a blog (again, anyone's blog)... not so much.

    Just sayin'.

  6. Dear Rantz,

    Wifey reads the blog everyday.

  7. I have a huge addiction to Youtube. So, I'm always pleased when someone's blog contains a video--regardless of the reason they've posted it (e.g., no time to write a post, just wanting to share it). With the folks around here, it's always something cool I've missed because I've been watching old Dick Cavett shows on Youtube 24-7.

  8. IANO: Wifey not only has to live with you, she also reads your blog? Wow. I have a GREAT deal of respect for her now. (Not that I didn't before.)

Sparkle: Have you thought of going to YouTube Anonymous about your addiction?

I usually skip a blog if it just consists of a video, UNLESS it's a personal thing, like Jayne's videos, or Redbeard's pilgrimage to Fenway video, etc. Plus, my computer's low on memory and everything takes forever to load, giving me an extra incentive to skip 'em.

  9. David'z: No way, man. However, if you wish to make an educational video on the topic and upload it to Youtube, I'll be glad to watch it. Until then, I'm watching "The Five Americans" doing "Western Union" (with blurry faces, but whatev). Shhhh. Keep it down, Rant'z. I'm WATCHING.

Earlier on I was called a "scamp" and a "doll," too...I ain't doing so bad today, huh?

Anyways, sorry to disappoint on the first comment thing...I'll make up for it tomorrow, promise.

    Love,
    Cake

  12. I've been trying to pitch "The Two Joes" to NBC and FOX for years.

    Cast:
    Joe D: Kevin Smith
    Joe O: David Duchovny
    Steve: Aaron Eckhart
    Bacon Ace: Carrot Top

  13. Carrot Top? *phew* I thought you were going to pick Yahoo Serious.

  14. Personally,Bacon Ace, I'd cast Robert Gordon as you.

Ok....so as funny as K. Smith is...I want my Joe to be played by the oh-so-hot John Barrowman...not only cuz he's hot but also cuz he's gay and that way I know my guy won't have chicks chasing him.

And oh....is it a coincidence that Joe O gets the sex addict actor?

    Hmm
my joe says "there r no coincidences"

  16. Well, the only reason I cast myself as DD is that over the years I've been told I look like 3 actors(ya know, the uglier version of them) -- John Ritter, Noah Wyle, and DD-- who would you pick?
(this pic cracks me up,it kinda sort does look like me:
    http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4099250944/nm0001864)

Sex addict--sure why not-- especially when I think of Sarah Palin in a nurses uniform...

Biggest coincidence of all though, is that you cast your husband as the TOP sex addict of all time -- Captain Jack Harkness!

Interesting casting choice Kathy, very interesting...

  17. You know, I never would have picked Noah Wiley, but that photo is well, right on the money.

If I were to pick an actor, I like Kevin Smith...I just wish I wasn't that fat. I'm not just why Kath picked John Barrowman. Could be my omnisexual nature, I suppose...

Come here Bacon Ace, you big stud.

Other actors could be Meat Loaf, Artie Lange or, of course, Matt Damon.

For Joe O: Ben Affleck to my Matt Damon. Or Christopher Ecceleston.

The Part of Steve would be played by David Tennant, Ric Ocasek, or Morgan Freeman.

Bacon Ace: Simon Pegg or Shirley Bassie.
