Cake, did you know that "naan tree" is Tamil for "thank you"? And "merci" is "thank you" in both French and Iranian (Farsi)? No kidding, they really are. In Mandarin it's "see seyeh", while Cantonese it's "mugoy". The only term I know in Hindi is "ban-cho", which is apparently obscene.
