Me, I agree by that. When I was small, my Boy Scout troop had a scoutmaster who was an SS officer captured early in the war and stayed here after. Nice guy, Oberstlieutenant Shwassman. (He preferred being being called by his former rank rather than "Mr". Musta been a pretty shitty Nazi, though: Those SS guys were supposed to die rather than allow themselves to be captured. And then there was Egon: Used to play a lot of cribbage with him. He was just a soldier (tank officer) back during the fun, but plain ol' soldier or not, his father was on the General Staff. Once showed me a picture of himself, his Dad, and a bunch of other guys (including AH hisself), on the reviewing stand as the troops paraded down the Champs Elysee. I dunno if both those guys were really hard-core, but no doubt about them both being nazis, and they were both nice guys.
