QUEER! NIGGER! FAGGOT! COON!

Uh-oh...it's gonna be shocking!

Not really.

I've been giving Barack Obama some thought.

He's done more in 5 months than any President I remember.

Hold it right there, Sisters...I didn't say he's done more 'good' in 5 months than any President that I remember...I said he's done more. He never stops.

He does have a certain energy not seen in a while.

But he doesn't think things through.

(Stay with me on this)

Really.

Obama is probably the most liberal leader this country has ever had. We knew that when we elected him. I mean...when YOU elected him.

No surprises.

Or is there?

There isn't.

Just disgust.

Here is the most liberal President EVER and he's against gay marriage.

And he told us this BEFORE the election.

>>>Barack Obama: 'marriage is between a man and a woman'<<<

(but he tries to play both sides by giving some token benefits to 'civic unions')

YOU voted for him and he told you BEFORE the election that he would not support gay marriage.

Most dictionaries have 'marriage is between a man and a woman' as the definition. Or at least the first definition.

(Stay with me)

Well, if marriage is between a man and a woman then I guess two men can't marry each other...correct?

WRONG!

How can that be wrong if the definition says 'between a man and a woman'??

BECAUSE DEFINITIONS 'CHANGE' (we 'hope')

Gay used to mean happy.

Then gay meant homosexual.

Now gay means stupid or foolish (and sometimes homosexual)

And nigger used to mean black man can't use my water fountain or my bathroom or sit in my restaurant or or or...

So where are we?

We have a part African American President that wants to put down happy stupid homosexuals and treat them unfairly and not let them get married...because the dictionary says it's between a man and woman.

And that is against their CIVIL RIGHTS!

Make any excuse for him that you want.

"He's waiting for the right time"

"He wanted to get elected"

"It's a sin"

"It will be a financial strain on business"

"And blah blah blah."

Well, guess what?

Marriage is no longer 'between a man and a woman'

Marriage is between any two people that want to be married. For love...for tax reasons...for any reason that a man and woman can get married. because the DEFINITION of marriage has changed.

You should be ashamed of yourself, Mr. Obama. You're worse than the racists of the 1950s and 1960s.

You should know better.

So Mister Obama...go follow the arrow in the picture up above and have a seat.

We'll wait in the other room with the white folks until you get your mind right.

That was a very well thought-out post, and you made some incredibly valid points.

It's more than a little ironic, considering Obama's much-discussed place in history.

Nope, no sarcasm, no wisecracks... I mean it.

Sorry to get all serious on you.

1) Excellent post! Welcome back!
2) I disagree with Barack Obama on this issue. No excuses.
3) I disagree with your assertion that "He doesn't think things through." Useless generalization.
4) Because he is half African American means that he is supposed to have more enlightened views on gay marriage than WASP President Bush? It'd be cool, but why do you assume that?
5) Do you genuinely support gay marriage? Cool! So: You did not vote for McCain, who is against gay marriage?
6) "Liberal leaders" are all supposed to have the same opinions about all of the same things? Why?
7) Attica! Attica!

Sparkle:

1.Thank you.

2.None. At all.

3. This is true...he's been throwing money at every problem this country has without looking at what will happen if it fails.

4. A black man should understand civil rights issues more than a white man. and you know why. (is it possible to 'bash' Obama without bringing up Bush? I think not)

5. Of course I do. If you don't...you're an idiot. (I voted for Mccain because both choices were against gay marriage and I had to pick someone.)

6. Yes. Or don't run on that platform.

7. Attica has too many gay black guys in it to be relevant anymore.

8. Years from now Obama is going to seem like George Wallace.

4. A black man should understand civil rights issues more than a white man. and you know why.

--I understand why you think so; I do not agree. Basically: Your line of argument is African Americans were slaves, had no rights, got rights, so now we should hold them to higher standards than we hold white men. Naw. Bogus. We should hold everybody to very high standards when it comes to civil rights including Obama, with whom I disagree on this issue.

--I bring up Bush because I love Bush. (Insert filthy joke here!)

--I blame Bush for his gay rights stance as much as I blame Clinton for his gay rights stance. I blame Obama, Bush, and Clinton for their gay rights stances. I am an EOE blamer.

6) Are conservatives all alike? Do they all believe the exact same thing? Naw. Likewise, liberals ain't all alike, don't all believe the exact same thing.

7) HA!

8) Aw, g'wan.

I'm sick of folks thinking Obama is the Shining Knight.

He's a bigot and he's on the record as being a bigot.

He's the president now and that's who I'm bashing.

Not Bush. not Clinton.

Obama needs to do the right thing.

But he's a pussy and won't (until maybe after the next election)

p.s.
No way a black guy should be expected to be any more understanding about gay rights than a white guy. Humans don't work like that...we're all stupid and we all have biases, no matter what our backgrounds are.

*slips back into the shadows*

White guys in this country aren't usually persecuted because of the color of their skin.

Black folks should understand it more than me.

How the heck could I understand what it feels like??

I'm white, straight, and have great hair.

This is a very interesting thread, of which I am too tired and doped up on cold medication to properly chime in on. Still...

1. Ditto to everything Sparkle said. (I hereby dub Sparkle my proxy on everything today.)

2. President Obama is not the Shining Knight. Sir Justin is the Shining Knight. Duh.

3.I'm having a good hair day.

4. Is it okay to mix Dayquil and white wine?

1. No politician exists whom I'd agree with 100% of the time. I'm a moderate. I've been called a liberal, but have surprisingly conservative views on a subject or two or three. If I were a candidate, I'd probably have a hard time supporting every single issue of my party's platform.

2. IANO's right. Obama's no shining knight, and I wish people in general would stop treating him like that. He's already done things I approve of, as well as things I disapprove of.

3. I agree with IANO that one would hope somebody who's received prejudicial treatment should be more understanding when other groups go through it.

3 also, kinda. Unfortunately, I agree with Cake and Sparkle, that it doesn't necessarily work that way.

6a. I also agree with Mark Evanier that someday, even if it's 100-150 years in the future, they'll look at the whole gay marriage issue and say "Why were rational people even debating this?" like we look at slavery, or giving certain groups the right to vote, etc., for examples.

11. I'm feeling very agreeable today, I guess.

16. Lois beat me to the Sir Justin line, damnit.

E. I have better hair than any of you.

I Ain't No Oprah said...

I agree it DOESN'T work that way as far as a black guy understanding bigotry more than me.

Though he should.

SO TO SUM UP:

Against gay marriage=stupid.

But the Bible says marriage is only between a man and a woman! Stop stomping on my Bible or I'll cryyyy!

I'm so glad you stopped by, Crazy McBiblethumper! This gives me an opportunity to point out a wonderful book called, "A Year of Living Biblically."

Check it out.

And I sure hope you're not wearing mixed fabrics...

Why can't I marry my sister. All that should matter is I love her, right? 100 years from now society will wonder what the big deal was about marrying kin-folk or adult men marrying young boys, right? How about marrying pets?
