Everybody has an opinion...this guy is just an idiot....and whipped cream and other delights.

So I get a phone call last night from someone telling me how awful the new Dark Knight movie is.

This person has in the past told me how good Christmas With The Kranks is.

I don't think I'll be paying for his movie reviews anytime soon.

-------------

Over on Cake's blog she mentions singing at concerts. Lots of people sing at concerts.

Wanna know something?

It's rude.

Don't sit next to me and sing at a concert. Shut up!

If I'm paying to see Celine, I wanna HEAR Celine!

---------------

So The Blonde is (was) part of buddy night and she missed four weeks in a row. So she got the boot.

But we decided to be fair and let her voice her excuses in an Arbritration Hearing this Thursday night (Buddy Night)...guess what? She blew us off once again. 5 weeks in a row!!

Wanna take her spot for Thursday night hijinx?

Feel free to submit your resume at iaintnooprah@aol.com

(spoken in an irritating muffled voice) "I'm Christian Bale and I have zero range of emotions in my current role as The Batman." (muffle, muffle, muffle)

There are some movies that are very long but the movie is interesting enough to keep the time moving along (Titanic, Dances With Wolves) but The Dark Knight seemed EVERY minute of its over 2 1/2 hours. I'm not saying that there were not some interesting parts (there were)...and Heath Ledger was quite good as the Joker (actually...a bit better than "quite good.")His character was so interesting that it made the rest of the cast very dull by comparison...When he wasn't on-screen I missed him. The other characters were really just plain boring.
Stupid scenes: The boring Batmobile and the ridiculously stupid Bat-Motorcycle. The only thing missing was Ewoks (as far as blatant merchandising goes)

Tell us about Christmas With The Kranks.

Wow, he really is cranky today. The rumours were right!

Dances with Wolves sucked and I don't think I deserved all the prizes I won for it.

Just sayin'.

My acting range wasn't exactly great in Titanic...I mean, the ship was a better actor, if I'm honest with you.

Just sayin' also.

Thank you, Cousin Saul and IANO, for making my day. I love your movie point-counterpoints!

I bet you two can agree about movie refreshments: over-priced and you can make better popcorn at home? Maybe? Just in case I'm wrong about that, 'though, I'm gonna go hide over here behind this comment box.

IANO: If you were at a Hillary Clinton and Barbra Streisand concert (Hillary opening for Barbra--Hillary plays the spoons, few people know that), would you or would you not PAY Cakie to sit next to you and sing very loudly?

Sparkle Plenty said...

P.S. You HAVE to be at the Hillary/Barbra concert in order to save humanity.

I think Hillary is a "funny" lady.

I feel I should point out that I only sing quietly and only if the rest of the crowd is singing and there's therefore no chance anybody is gonna hear this broad's off-tune voice. Thank you.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to run off to see the Dark Knight. I heard Saul just LOVED it!

Now...Morgan Freeman is normally a very talented actor....his lines were mostly terrible although he had one humourous bit. When a bad script can make Morgan Freeman uninteresting that's saying a lot! This movie wasn't horrible (although parts were dreadful)...it just wasn't as "great" as many people have expressed. I'd give it a 3 star rating out of 5. Can't wait til the sequel...Heath Ledger's Joker is so good!

By the way, Christmas With The Kranks was a lousy movie. It had an interesting premise though...how we, as parents, tend to drop everything or change our plans when our grown-up kids come home. The actual movie, however, was pretty bad.

How was Christmas With Heath Ledger?

IANO,
Let me show you how I got these scars.

Christian Bale was AWESOME in "The Departed"!

not Scar, Craw!

Hey! I have something in common with Batman!

I would be privileged to have the Cake sit next to me. While I agree that some people can cross over into rudeness territory with their singing--particularly the jumbo man who I sat next to during a Who concert--the Cake does not strike me as one who would cross over the line and into rudeness territory. Plus, only big sweaty armpits in my face really bother me at concerts and that's my fault because I am overly short and my nose is closer to sweaty armpits than most people's noses.

We'll be down front with Mick and the boys and we'll be sure to wave at you two up in the nosebleed seats.

Maybe tomorrow we should all sing our blog posts.

Of course, Redbeard is probably the only one among us who could figure out how to do this...

Sparkle:

You're now my favourite!

Lois:

Oh dear, no wait, alert the judges...we have a TIE!

IANO:

IANO, I rather doubt you'd pay to see or hear Celine.

Just a thought.

And somebody needs to talk to Cousin Saul about Heath Ledger's role in the next Batman film...

I felt similar feelings about "Iron Man." Most people thought it was great, I "only" thought it was very good.

And Sparkle, what do you mean movie popcorn is over-priced? It's like gasoline. I was paying $4.05 to $4.11 a gallon long enough to think I'm getting a great deal now that it's dropped to $3.96 to $3.99 (if you know where to look).

And hey, don't you love those guys who say "I'll drive 50 miles out of my way if I have to, to save a penny or two per gallon!"

(Sorry, I've been going through RantZ withdrawal lately.)
