People That Love Proverbs Shouldn't Throw Glass Horses

If you're like me you think a lot about proverbs (and Hitler) and how tons of them barely make any sense. Joining two of them together doesn't really make them any less important.

1. It takes two to let sleeping dogs lie.

2. A penny saved is worth two in the bush.

3. A rolling stone saves nine.

4. Don't cut off your chickens to move mountains.

5. Spare the rod, call the kettle black.

6. A friend in need is 1/2 dozen of another.

7. Old habits die by bread alone.

8. An apple a day is the devil you don't know.

9. A woman's place makes Jack a dull boy.

10. Nothing for #10 is a penny earned.

11. Robbing Peter...and I'll scratch yours.

So many more...

I could totally live my life by these:

- An apple a day leads the horse to water.
- If a job's worth doing it's two pennies saved.
- Better the devil you know than a gift horse's mouth.
- The last straw is always greener on the other side of the camel.

Loose lips are good enough for government work.
Haste makes nice guys finish.
Nice guys who finish last are good for the gander.
What's good for the goose is mightier than the sword.
He who laughs last, drops a dime, saves nine.
You can lead a Helen to the buffet, but you can't stop her from eating.

Hey! Didn't Anonymous WRITE all of these proverbs originally? In all of my (many, oh so many) proverb books it credits "Anonymous." Deep. A deep, deep nameless entity.

I'm pro-noun, too! Who's anti-noun, anyway?

Better the Devil you know than the Heavy Helen you don't.

Haste makes the many more fish in the sea.

Never count your Heavy Helens before they hatch, and just try to put all of your Heavy Helens in one basket. Just try.

Haste DOES make the many more fish in the sea! Especially when you cut bait.

Speaking of bait, don't forget - clouds without silver sleeping dogs are like hooks without bait.

Idle hands catch the worms.

Early to bed, early to rise, kills two birds with one stone.

But really, I don't care what Dr. Ben said-I don't want to get up early for birds or worms.

No, I'm pretty sure she was traded to the Devil Rays.

It was a controversial decision.
